These DSQ Prefold Diapers are the real deal. These are made from 100% Unbleached Cotton, they work and they last !
We only carry the premium prefolds that are made with 8 plys of cotton in the middle and 4 ply on each side. These prefolds are super thirsty and absorbent.
Prefold Diapers are a great option because they are the most economical diapering system available.
With the advent of the Snappi Fastener - using prefolds has become easier than ever. No more diaper pins - Snappis are easy to use and no more stabbing your fingers with pins. You can also just fold the diaper into thirds and lay it into a wrap style cover.

All of our prefolds are 4x8x4 ply. Not all prefolds are manufactured to this standard - be assured these are the highest quality cotton prefolds.
Unbleached means the cotton has NOT been subjected to stripping of natural colours and oils by chemical process. Therefore, there are some natural oils in the cotton that will come out over the first several washings. Please follow the wasing instructions below to prep your prefolds to their most absorbency.
If you are diapering a new born you will need approximately 36 prefolds to get you through 2-3 days before you do laundry. If you are using a combination of prefolds and another system, 1-2 dozen will be a good start.
For a baby older than 3-4 months you will need approximately 18 - 24 prefolds to get you through 2-3 days before you do laundry.
These prefolds arrive flat and will need approximately 5 hot wash and dryer cylcles to get them nice and fluffy. These initial washes help remove natural oils that remain in the cotton. The more you wash these, the more absorbant they become.
Yes ! The cotton gets wet and you will need covers to keep your babies clothing and you dry!
You should also have 4-6 covers on hand. 2 per day for 3 days. You can alternate 2 covers during the day, letting one air out while you use the other. With brand new babies, covers may not even be getting wet because they are changed so often.
