Bummis Organic Cotton Prefolds

Introducing... Bummis ORGANIC Cotton Pre-fold diapers.

Made of 100% certified organic cotton twill, they are wonderfully thick and thirsty.

They are unbleached cotton and are incredibly soft. The more you wash them, the softer they become.

Use these prefolds with Thirsties or Baby Beehinds covers, or with your homemade knit wool covers or longies.

These come nicely package in a cotton bag, 6 in each bag.

How Many Prefolds Do I Need?

If you are diapering a newborn, and exclusively using prefolds, you will need approximately 36 prefolds to get you through 2-3 days before you do laundry. Newborns often use 12 diapers per day. These are also great for burp cloths and can be used to stuff pockets once they are too small. If you are using other types of diapers as well, I suggest having a total of 24-30 diapers for the newborn stages.

For an older baby you will need approximately 18 - 24 prefolds to get you through 2-3 days before you do laundry. With prefolds you will be changing approximately every 2 hours, so you should have a good amount on hand to get you through 2 days.

 


Washing your Prefold Diapers

These prefolds arrive flat and will need approximately 5 hot wash and dryer cylcles to get them nice and fluffy. These initial washes help remove natural oils that remain in the cotton. The more you wash these, the more absorbant they become. These prefolds are super soft and you will know when they are reaching their abosorbancy.
